This resource index offers easy-to-access information on causes of vision loss and lists the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, descriptions, and linked websites of close to 200 organizations offering services to people with vision impairments.
The listed organizations help with financial assistance, adaptive low vision aids and clinics, video magnifiers, screen readers and other aids for use of computers, and sources for large print and talking books and Braille. There are special sections on products and assistance for blind infants and children, as well as listings devoted to support groups for all ages, and many other services such as outdoor activity, sports and travel and legal assistance for people with sight loss. If you wish to find magnifiers, strong illumination sources, help with finances, support groups for specific eye problems, and assistance of many other types, this site is the first step in locating what you need.
